WALLPAPER ORGY
Back in 2012 here in the Philippines, we experienced a heavy storm that caused a flood that penetrated into our houses in Manila some years ago. This sort of thing usually happens once in a blue moon but it isn't a big deal from where we live, of course a good house cleaning would ensue after these kinds of natural calamity and that I did. But before the herculean cleaning began, I thought of an idea and figured I'd do something crazy as well.
Also here in the Philippines, we have a magazine for men called FHM. Other countries have them as well but here, most of the women they feature are Filipina models, athletes and actresses that we have and so I got the idea (since I had lots of copies of FHM) to spruce up my studio and turn these beautiful women on pages to my wallpaper, and that I did.
After five years the studio is now devoid of these images because my main reason of doing this was so that I could be inspired to paint wherever I look, but it turns out that it did indeed inspire me for a while, but it also got me more tired (wink* wink*). I decided to tear them all down after two years or so and was back to putting regular artworks of my own and of others on my wall and from time to time still putting up photos of models on them but only a piece or so after that.
I also did this because I was looking for the one for me, my soul mate, and thought that laying all these pictures of women out would either attract her to me or even give me more motivation to find her. But alas, only after getting rid of these magazine pages of women on my wall that I met and found the one who would become my wife. I guess sometimes, when you look too hard you neglect to see someone who is in front of you all along. :)
