I
saw a picture on the internet about a statue of Buddha that had its
head dismembered by someone or it was destroyed by the elements. Some
might see that photograph as tragic, but I saw it as a reminder of
impermanence. That as mortal beings the only thing that stays with us is
our wisdom. Hence I painted a halo of where the head used to be to
signify enlightenment even after death.
