This artwork was done for our composition class in college. I love that subject, it really opened up my mind on the dimensions of placing your figures on the space of your canvas or paper. In this specific artwork, we were tasked to pain with watercolor a two figure composition.
It didn't matter how one would paint it or what style, all that mattered was the two forms you put into the paper. And I chose the story of Jesus when we came back from praying at the Garden of Gethsemane and he finds out that the apostles slept and did not wait for him to finish almost making Jesus a bit mad but mainly disappointed at them.
As I was making this, I kept hearing the song from Jesus Christ Super Star on the same act where he finished praying, singing "Peter, John, James..." it got stuck in mind because my mother sang it to me when she was reviewing me for a test way back in elementary school. Sometimes the things that stick to you are the ones that are deeply rooted in your life. And that's what you produce in your art, basically, a handful of memories and a lot of imagination.
